I decided this Tzatziki sauce needed its own post. One – for blogging purposes it is easier to label and organize and find…Two – it is just that good why not shine the light all its own for Tzatziki Sauce!
I first mentioned this sauce for the Chicken Gyro’s I made for dinner. Next I will have you make this sauce to go with Greek Tacos.
Oooooooooo…….look …… there it is…the Tzatziki Sauce. I think I just like saying that word Tzatziki Tzatziki Tzatziki
1 cup plain Greek yogurt – which is also a 6 oz. container of yogurt…pictured below is what I used.
1 regular cucumber, peeled and seeded
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon white wine vinegar
Salt and pepper
Squeeze of fresh lemon juice
Extra virgin olive oil
Chop the cucumber. I prefer my pieces chunky so I chopped. You can shred if you prefer. Wrap in a towel a squeeze to remove as much water as possible.
Mix together the yogurt, cucumber, garlic, white wine vinegar, salt and pepper to taste, and lemon juice.
Drizzle lightly with olive oil.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
