in Book Reviews, tidbits

I may have not been cooking but I sure was reading. During my pregnancy I could not wait to crawl into bed…relax…and read. So many times I would fall asleep after just reading a couple pages…but other days when we’d get the boys to bed early…I was putting myself to bed right after them grabbing my kindle and reading reading reading.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

By Ransom Riggs

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children, #1)

This is typically not a book I would read.  I had not even heard about it but a friend had posted about it on facebook.

I was looking for something different to read and boy this was it. I liked it. I didn’t love it but I liked it. I am even going to read the second book in this series Hollow City (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children #2)

If you typically don’t read fantasy/sci-fi creepy kind of books give this one a try you may like it too.

I Am the Messenger

by Markus Zusak

I Am the Messenger

Markus Zusak also wrote The Book Thief…a book I loved.

When I heard about this book and read the reviews on amazon I could not wait to read it. The book captivated me…I kept cheering for the main character Ed Kennedy.

Love this description…
“In ORPHAN TRAIN, Christina Baker Kline seamlessly knits together the past and present of two women, one young and one old. Kline reminds us that we never really lose anyone or anything or–perhaps most importantly–ourselves.” (Ann Hood, author of The Knitting Circle)
Enjoy Reading my Friends
