Slow Cooker Pepper Steak

Tuesday night for dinner I went the stand by route of 1. slow cooker 2. red meat. As I’ve mentioned before I work late on Tuesday’s so I am typically not home for dinner…and I don’t eat red meat so I feel it is the perfect night for hubby to eat up the frozen cow we have in our deep freeze.

Allrecipes is a site that is great for finding recipes. I’ve signed up for their emails and this recipe is one that got sent to me. The recipe has over 1,500 reviews scoring 4.5 stars so here I go…. I asked Hubby to go get me beef sirloin from freezer. Hubby was hesitant for me to use his good cut of meat for a slow cooker recipe when he normally would grill it up. So our conversation goes I don’t know cuts of meat – I will use what you want me to honey I am just asking for what the recipe tells me to do. Hubby says ok just use the meat we still have lots more 😉

and the verdict?? – he was SO happy that we used the meat. He said it was so good. The boys ate the whole entire dinner! I never even got a chance to take a picture when I got home – it was ALL gone. Crockpot in the sink empty!

Hubby served this dish with baked potatoes since he is not particularly fond of rice. ugh I hate even writing and admitting that. I LOVe LOVE LOOOOve rice – all forms. I love rice… he not so much hence the potatoes -which they ate all up.

Slow Cooker Pepper Steak


  • 2lb Beef Sirloin (Cut into 2 inch strips)
  • garlic powder to taste
  • 3 tablespoons EVOO
  • 1 cube beef bouillon
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 Medium onion (chopped)
  • 1 Large green pepper (chopped)
  • 1 14.5 ounce can stewed tomatoes
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt


In large skillet heat evoo over medium heat. Sprinkle garlic powder onto beef strips. Brown the beef strips...don't overcook.

Transfer to slow cooker
Mix beef bouillon with hot water in glass measuring cup, stir until dissolved.
Mix in cornstarch and stir until dissolved.
Add in the soy sauce, sugar and salt. Mix and pour into slow cooker.
Add stewed tomatoes, onion and green pepper to slow cooker.
Cover and cook on low 6-8 hours or on high 3-4 hours
