Shredded Chicken BBQ Sandwich: No-Cook BBQ Sauce

We had a family cook out and as all our family cookouts go a ton of food left over. Not because we don’t eat enough quite the opposite we just want to make sure there is plenty of food ya know so we don’t starve. Well my mom had so much grilled chicken left over and she was like do you want to take some?  I was like yes of course. I immediately thought I would use in enchiladas but there was also a ton of coleslaw left…and I mean a ton. So I was like can I take some coleslaw too mom. Mom’s are the Best. And I notice in this blog post I am saying  the word LIKE like a lot.

Ok back to the point chicken and coleslaw BINGO – I knew BBQ Sandwichs with coleslaw on top – I LOVE.

Do you see this? See how goooooooooood this looks. It was.

This BBQ was so easy to make. No cooking involved. And the flavors were still so BBQish goodish. So  get some buns from your local bakery, grill up some chicken, shred it and mix in this bbq sauce – and don’t forget the coleslaw!

No Cook BBQ Sauce


  • 1 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup ketchup (I love Annie's Organic)
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons ground mustard
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt


Add all ingredients to a large bowl and whisk well until everything is blended together and sugar has dissolved.

Serve. Or store in fridge or freezer.

Oh my goodness, this looks absolutely delicious! What a great way to dress up your leftover chicken + cole slaw – so smart. Love that the sauce is no-cook, too!
