{meatfree monday} kale chips

in healthy, Recipes, Side Dishes

I have to say I have struggled with making the perfect kale chip..and by struggle I mean this is the 3x I’ve made these…and guess what 3rd time is the charm…at last I can share…

so this sounds silly totally have not reinvented the wheel on this one…I’ve made the same recipe 3x…same one you can find all over the web and in cookbooks.

KALE CHIPS

1 bunch kale

appx. 1 tablespoon olive oil

Sea salt, to taste

Preheat oven to 300°F.

Rinse and dry the kale, then remove the stems and tough center ribs. You can tear the leafs off by holding bottom stem and pulling upwards.

Cut into large pieces – now here is where I learned I tossed LIGHTLY WITH olive oil in a bowl. My prior times making this I used too much olive oil and it just didn’t crisp up nice. To me this was the key. So after you’ve tossed the kale and olive oil together sprinkle with sea salt or I used Himalayan Sea Salt

Arrange leaves in a single layer on a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper to make clean up easier.

Bake for appx. 20 minutes, or until crisp.

Enjoy! Family ate these all up as a side to our dinner!

mmm I haven’t made kale chips in forever! I need to run to the store tonight anyway and kale is most certainly now on my list! Thanks for the reminder. :) Glad you got these perfected the third time around!
